A stabilized variant of "Cherokee Purple" the popular old heirloom from Tennessee. Cherokee Chocolate shares the excellent flavor and texture of its parent but with its own subtle differences. Vigorous plants yield 3-4 inch, mahogany/dark crimson red tomatoes with shoulders that are brownish-black giving it the chocolaty color this tomato is famous for. Beautiful beefsteak tomatoes both on the vine and on the plate. An excellent slicing variety.
