Tomato Trio
FAQ
  • WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU SAY PREORDER??
Our business is small and we do not have a brick and morter nursery that you can come by and pick out what you want, so our customers select the plants they want for BEFORE the upcoming growing season and we start them and have them ready to plant by your selected finish date.
  • WHY PREORDER??
Since we have limited space we can only start a limited number of plants so we try to maximize our space by only starting what we are guaranteed to sell. Pre-ordering ensures you get the plants you want and ensures that we don't end up with plants that may or may not sell.
  • WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED??
We are located in Jeffersonville, Indiana right across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky. We currently serve parts of Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky.
  • DO WE DELIVER??
On orders over 100 plants we are happy to deliver within a certain distance. Delivery on smaller orders are on a case by case basis. If you live a good distance away from us we can arrange to meet you. We try and be as flexible as we can with getting your plants to you but delivery on all our orders is just not possible. For all delivery inquiries please contact us before you place your order.
  • HOW BIG WILL MY PLANTS BE??
Your plants will be in quart sized pots (4x4), they will be well rooted, meaning the entire root ball will slip easily from the pot and retain its shape and the soil intact. We have a system of potting up that guarantees a deeply rooted plant. Our plants will not be root bound and are usually 12 inches or taller. It is not unusual for them to have blossoms on your selected finish date. We strive to ensure your plants are healthy and free from disease and we are very selective about what we offer to our customers and we discard any plants that do not meet our standards.
  • WHY SHOULD WE GROW HEIRLOOM TOMATOES??
Tomatoes are like any other fruit or vegtable, homegrown just always taste better than anything your local grocerer can offer and heirlooms offer a HUGE range of flavors, shapes, colors and sizes that hybrids simply can't offer.
  • HOW DO I PREORDER??
Our preordering process is pretty simple! Browse our shop and simply pick out what you want and select the finish by date you need. The price you initially pay is your deposit on your selected plants, this helps to cover our initial cost of starting your plant and it helps reduce problems like customers putting in a request for certain plants and then backing out later after we have already started the plant. Our deposit IS NOT refundable!! You can back out of your order but the deposit will not be refunded. After your order is completed and your plants are ready for pick up we will send you an invoice for the remaining balance for your order. We accept cash at pick up/delivery, PayPal and ApplePay. No checks or money orders!
  • I MISSED YOUR PREORDER WILL YOU HAVE ANY MORE TOMATOES??
Yes we will, BUT the selection will be limited both in quantity and variety of plants and they go quickly!! We sell these remaining plants from our home and various markets and locations. If you want to know where and when we will be selling these plants please subscribe! We send our notices of when and where we will be selling plants.
  • WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANCEL MY ORDER??
When you make your initial preorder a deposit is collected on each plant, if you have to cancel your order we are happy to do that for you but the deposit WILL NOT be refunded. The deposit is collected to help cover the initial cost of starting your plant and many times when a customer backs out of an order we have already started the plant and face a loss so all deposits collected are not refundable!!
  • WHAT IF I CAN'T PICK UP MY TOMATOES BY MY FINISH DATE??
If you need to delay your pick up we are happy to oblige. We will keep your plants for an additional week at no extra charge. If you need more time than that we do charge a fee of $5 per week and are willing to keep the plant for 2-3 weeks. After that the plant usually will need to be repotted and usually staked. If you are willing to pay to have your plants potted up we are happy to do that if you need the extra time.
  • I'M NOT HAPPY WITH MY PLANTS??
We have a 100% guarantee on our plants. They will be healthy, disease free and ready to plant. If you are unhappy with the plants we want to make sure we keep our customers happy and are willing to refund your cost minus the deposit. However we are not responsible for mistakes on the part of the customer like over or under watering, over fertilizing etc.. We ask that you please contact us BEFORE you plant if you are unhappy. Once the plant is in the ground there are to many factors that can compromise a plant. You may have a disease in your soil or may have torrential rainfall or other weather factors, all of which can compromise your plant and are out of our control.
